چکیده

Construction and demolition waste represents a growing environmental, social, economic problem, has become priority for European worldwide policies. The early quantification of construction is essential the minimisation its production improvement management. This requires development design-based tools that enable better understanding expected produced during phase. Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies have gained recognition in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations (AECO) sector, largely due to their capacity data simulation, storage, management building design study presents software application, called WE-BIM Add-in, quantify (CW) while designing BIM model Revit. A validated CW which enables types quantities per element be predicted detail according List Waste (LoW) integrated into Revit workflow. Design alternatives could effortlessly simulated real time assist practitioners decision-making stages. Two alternative structural systems Spanish residential were compared: reinforced concrete structure, Option 1 (O1), steel 2 (O2). results obtained automatically: O2, addition reducing 56% O1′s waste, would increased recycling rate by 49%; displayed Revit, thereby remaining consistent with those other studies compare prefabricated situ systems. work provides basis future research automated estimation useful tool waste-prevention

Development of an Experimental Waste Framework Based on Bim/lean Concept in Construction Design

The construction industry faces many problems and challenges especially with the construction of housing which are due to the high level of non-value-adding activities (waste) that reduce the overall construction performance and productivity. In recent years, there have been investigations and research on improving the performance of construction. Lean construction is widely known as an effecti...

A BIM-aided construction waste minimisation framework

a r t i c l e i n f o At present, there are insufficient design decision making tools to support effective construction waste minimisation evaluation and implementation throughout all design stages. A limited but growing body of recent literature suggests that building information modelling has the potential to assist architects to minimise design waste on their projects. The research reported ...

Current Discussions on Digital Sketching in the Early Stages of Architectural Design in Education

In the architectural design, designers are focused on the early stages of the design process or conceptual design. The ultimate goal of this stage is to find a solution for an existing problem, investigate design space, or explore an idea. This stage conventionally begins with sketches and diagrams to explore ideas and solutions; the ambiguity and vagueness of conventional freehand sketching ca...

Enhancing Safety throughout Construction using BIM/VDC

Construction jobsites are some of the most dangerous workplaces. According to the Bureau of Labor, in 2008 1005 fatalities resulted from construction accidents, and cost industry approximately $11.5 billion annually. Many construction accidents could be avoided through better engineering and administrative controls, and improved safety training. 3D visualization and analyses are situated to pla...
